Descent into Madness 1.2 Patch Notes

A forward: 

Descent into Madness was originally made for the Jame Gam (Game Jam). It's theme was "cheap copy" and a the game required an Umbrella be incorporated into the game somehow. When I worked on the game for the jam, I thought the theme "cheap copy" was stupid and didn't use it in my game. I still think it's stupid, and have not added that theme to my game. Below are the changes I have made: 

- Literally no new content

- Changed resolution from 720x340 to 640x480. I have no fucking clue what I was doing with the original resolution, I'm glade I made this change.

- Composed music for and have created a music management system. I really wanted music in the original game, but just didn't have the time to make it. That has changed today! 

- added SFX. 

- developed a new camera system to accommodate screen shake add effects

- added screen shake

- redesigned enemies to fix bug where killing them would occasionally kill the player too

- redesigned the camera system to accommodate new levels. This was pointless, because i didn't end up adding new levels. 

- changed control scheme 

- adjusted in game text

- fixed a bug with the gun boots where under certain circumstances two bullets would fire at the same time. No one noticed this. just me. I had to fix. 

- added coyote time (wanted to do this in original release, but ran out of time)

- other small bug fixes, and adjustments 


An After:

Originally I wanted to compose music for the original jam this game was apart of, but given the time constraints and my busy day to day, I had to give up on that idea. I'm glad this jam existed to not only give me the chance to compose music, but also touch up some of the shitty ramshackle parts of my programming and design. I hope you enjoy my little game and always remember:
